Transition Exeter has a meet-up on 6th June, and in fact in Exeter there are things going on all through June, well done to them, but it is a big city!
On 11th June there is the University of the Trees, thata’s a Saturday, Haldon Forest (map)
” ‘The University of the Trees’ is a playful yet serious exploration of what it means to be an ecological citizen – a way of creating dialogue about the kind of world we want to live in. We want to get people talking and listening to one another as well as the trees,” says Johanna Korndorfer, CCANW Learning and Development Manager.
So if you have nothing to do on the 9th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 27th, and/or 30th, then find out some great things to do here.
The Transport Group looks pretty busy, I love the idea of a Car Free day but I hope they can do it with permission! One idea I had was to have a right for every street and road to have a car free day once a year. Some planning is needed because reality is, if you shut down roads by having a street fayre, as Exeter plans to do, then what about emergency vehicles?
I love the idea of Low Carbon Pub Quizes.
This page is at the moment produced by me, Graham, in Chichester. If anyone in Exeter wants to write copy to keep everyone in South Coast in Transition up to date, just get in touch! Thanks.
